About the Event
Okapu F2 Trustees have received a signed letter from 11 beneficial owners dated 28th Feb 2021 requesting the Trustees call a Special General Meeting (SGM) in May 2021. Therefore In Accordance with the Okapu F2 Trust Deed, Sec 17(b) SPECIAL GENERAL MEETINGS. The Okapu F2 Trustees hereby call a SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING (SGM) as outlined below:
The purpose of the SGM is to request a grant be paid from the Okapu F2 Trust to assist with the Ookapu Marae rebuild project.
As per section 14 of the Okapu F2 Trust Deed, such grants are able to be made to "Maori Community Purposes" It is noted that section 218 Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993 section (b) sub clause (iii) states "by making grants or loans towards the cost of the construction, establishment, management, maintenance, repair or improvement of Maori meeting houses, halls, churches and church halls, kohanga reo, villages, Marae or cemeteries"
The details of the SGM are outlined:
Te Raa (date): Saturday 29th May 2021
Waahi Hui (venue): Te Awamutu Public Library meeting room, Selwyn Lane, Te Awamutu. (opposite Te Awamutu Events Centre)
Te Waa (time): 9.30am venue opens for sign in and registration.
10am: SGM commences.

Discussion - Ookapu Mare rebuild and purpose of grant.
The Resolutions: Voting by secret ballot with 3 options (1 vote only for 1 option – only registered owners as per Maori landcourt shareholder list are eligible to vote)
Option 1: That the Okapu F2 Trust pay a grant towards the Ookapu Marae rebuild project.
Option 2: That the Okapu F2 Trust purchase a Community defibrillator to donate to Ookapu Marae, instead of paying a grant.
Option 3: That the Okapu F2 Trust take no such action and does not pay a grant and does not donate a community defibrillator to Ookapu Marae.
The other matter of business is the review to the Trust Deed. The resolution is as follows:
Option 1: That notification of Trust meetings can also include advertising by way of social media, email, radio and/or newspaper.
As this is a SGM, the only matters of business are those that are outlined above.
